  1. Things I Wish I Had Known my First Year at WVU (for new first year faculty). This session focuses on new faculty entering WVU including teaching assistant professors, tenure track professors, visiting assistant professors, and similar roles.

  1. Engaging Students for Deeper Learning (session repeats at 1:00 PM). Need teaching ideas? This group of award-winning professors offers insight into their successful teaching strategies.

    Nick Bowman, Associate Professor of Communication Studies

  2. Integrating Work & Life to Foster Faculty Success (session repeats at 1:00 PM). Learn about resources and policies (e.g. extending the tenure clock, parental leave) designed to enhance your work-life integration. Hear real life examples and gain hands-on strategies that will help you balance competing demands on your time.

  3. Health Sciences Education. This session focuses on an overview of the professional and graduate education programs and mission of the Health Sciences Center, including inter-disciplinary and inter-professional education. Additionally, this group of experienced educators will focus on insights on how to actively engage today’s health professions student.

  4. Navigating the Clinical Enterprise. This session focuses on enhancing understanding of the clinical enterprise at Health Sciences academic health center and the organizational relationship between the School of Medicine, faculty practice plans, the core teaching hospital, and other clinical facilities. Additionally, presenters will share insights and tips regarding how to navigate the variety of resources and requirements in an ever-changing healthcare environment.
