This session focuses on new faculty entering WVU including teaching assistant professors, tenure track professors, visiting assistant professors, and similar roles.
Nutting Gallery 2. Building on Experience at WVU
The focus of this panel discussion is for faculty entering WVU as associate professors, chairs, or other leadership positions.
Deans’ Suite 115 3. Enhancing Research and Scholarly Activity at Health Sciences
This session is an overview of the basic science and clinical research structure at the Health Sciences Center, available resources and the roadmap to successfully engage in research.

Barnette Room 110 & 111 1. Who Are WVU Students & How Can You Engage Them? (session repeats at 2:30 PM)
Do you want to understand the unique characteristics and needs of WVU students? This group of veteran professors will help you understand these characteristics and needs in order to better engage and motivate your students.
Salon C 2. Integrating Work & Life to Foster Faculty Success (session repeats at 2:30 PM)
Learn about resources and policies (e.g. extending the tenure clock, parental leave) designed to enhance your work-life integration. Hear real life examples and gain hands-on strategies that will help you balance competing demands on your time.
Deans’ Suite 115 3. Health Sciences Education and Innovation
This session focuses on an overview of the professional and graduate education programs and mission of the Health Sciences Center, including inter-professional education. Additionally, this group of experienced educators will focus on insights on how to actively engage today’s health professions student.

This session focuses on enhancing understanding of the clinical enterprise at Health Sciences academic health center and the organizational relationship between the School of Medicine, faculty practice plans, the core teaching hospital, and other clinical facilities. Additionally, presenters will share insights and tips regarding how to navigate the variety of resources and requirements in an ever-changing healthcare environment.
