Adding Events to TLC Calendar

The Teaching and Learning Commons (TLC) calendar aims to promote events that benefit faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows. To advertise your events on the TLC calendar, follow the steps below. For questions, please contact us at tlcommons@mail.wvu.edu.

 

WVU Partners

New Events

  1. Sign into your calendar account by going to https://cal.wvu.edu
  2. After signing in, click the Submit an Event button
  3. Enter the details of your event.
  4. In the Filters section, select Teaching and Learning Commons from the Departments dropdown menu
    • Multiple departments can be added allowing you to add to your own, or other calendars, at the same time.
  5. Click the Submit Event button when done.

 

Existing Events

Events that are already on your own calendar can be modified to also appear on the TLC calendar.

  1. Sign into your calendar account by going to https://cal.wvu.edu
  2. After signing in, go to the Administration section
    • Click your profile icon beside the Submit Event button to see dropdown menu
  3. Click on Future Events (events already on your calendar) or Pending Events (events not yet approved).
    • Use the Refine Search column on the right to select your department from the Group/Department dropdown and click the Refine button to show only your events.
  4. Click the title of the event to enter the editing screen.
  5. In the Departments field find and select Teaching and Learning Commons from the dropdown menu
  6. In the Tags field type in TLC PARTNERS
  7. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

 

Non-WVU Groups

Non-WVU entities can submit events for consideration by the TLC. 

  • Email your event to tlcommons@mail.wvu.edu
    • Be sure to include:
      • Title
      • Date
      • Time
      • Description
      • Call to action (e.g. How to register)
      • Contact information for questions
